Building a genuine connection with someone, especially early on, can be tricky. Even in long-term relationships, surprises can arise, making the start of a new one full of potential mishaps. Here’s one example:
On a second date, which happened to be Valentine’s Day, I brought flowers, a musical card, and chocolates. It was freezing, and I had nowhere to store them except my car, so I hoped the flowers wouldn’t wilt. After a lovely date, I got the flowers out… and they were dead. The music card wouldn’t work either, just buzzing. I nervously said, “Well, at least I hope the chocolates are okay.” She laughed and gave me my first kiss. It turned out fine despite the mishaps.
