On a hectic Monday evening, Libby entered a café, hoping to unwind before heading home. As she sipped her coffee, she noticed a baby at the next table with apple puree smeared across his face. She despised babies—especially their cries for attention.
When the baby began wailing, Libby grew irritated and demanded the father quiet him or leave. The father, engrossed in a phone call, apologized but refused to move. As Libby confronted him, the baby flung puree onto her clothes. Furious, she stormed out, vowing never to return.
A year later, Libby fell deeply in love and became pregnant. When she told her parents, they disapproved, fired her and her partner Trevor from their family company, and disowned her. Despite the hardships, they embraced their baby girl, Eve, with love.
One day, Libby secured a job interview but had no choice but to bring Eve along. At the office, she was shocked—the interviewer was Jonathan, the café father she had once berated. As Eve cried, Jonathan offered to hold her.
“I love babies,” he said warmly. “I’m a single dad myself.”
To Libby’s surprise, he hired her and even allowed her to bring Eve to work. That day, Libby didn’t just find a job—she learned that life is about more than just work. Compassion and kindness mattered most.
