Isabel returns home early, excited to surprise her husband Paul for his birthday, only to find his mistress Jane in their bedroom. When confronted, Paul coolly introduces Jane as part of his life and dismisses Isabel, even threatening that if she leaves, she’ll never see their children again. Despite her devastation and isolation—her mother is dead and she has no friends—Isabel gathers the courage to plan her escape.
After a bitter confrontation at breakfast where Paul announces Jane should move in permanently, Isabel desperately contacts a divorce lawyer, only to be warned that Paul’s power makes the case nearly impossible. Determined, she secretly sneaks into Paul’s office using a key card, gathers incriminating documents, and sends photos to the police and media. Caught by security, she is almost taken away by Paul’s henchmen, but officers burst in and arrest him.
In the aftermath, as Paul is led away and her estranged lawyer Charles reappears, Isabel feels a mix of relief and newfound strength. Though betrayed and hurt, she resolves to protect her children and reclaim her life from a man who once controlled her every move.
